Dressing conventionally for daily life can get boring, so why not change things up? Thanks to these fashion failures, we better understand why we stop ourselves from dressing out of the ordinary. Check out some of the best fashion fails!
These Pockets Ain’t Loyal
While having back pockets in our jeans are a standard must-have, that doesn’t mean to say that they’re of any use to us. While we like the style of distressed jeans, it will cause a lot of personal distress if we were to shatter our phones due to their impracticality.
The Ugly Christmas Sweater Levelled Up
Receiving an ugly reindeer sweater as a gift on Christmas is pretty much expected. Often, the whole family wears them together for the annual Christmas card and you feel less embarrassed because you’re all looking funny together. However, the same can’t be said for these pajama pants.
While the mother who made them had the best of intentions for the pair to be a sweet and fuzzy gift for her sons, she seemed to miss the finer details of her creation. Consequently, all her boys wore these awkward chipmunk pajamas and we cannot stop laughing at them. Nothing like the gift of a giggle!
A Dress to Wear Nowhere
While Adidas is one of the top athleisure brands in the world, that doesn’t mean that they can design for dressier occasions. Because when they do, you can end up with a dress that looks like someone stole from your granny’s old frilly curtains.
But hey, the garment is not a total fail if you take off the whole bottom half and just use the sleeves and brand label, it’s great. Or, if you can close both your eyes and then voila, it’s that much better!
Shoes That Need Spell Check
While we love shoes and how they can make our feet look and feel, we don’t try to obtain our wisdom from them. We leave that duty to wise people or social media sites like Tumblr or Pinterest – because on the rare occasion that shoe designers try to get crafty with quotes, look at what happens.
Not only are these shoes ugly but we have absolutely no clue what this affirmation is about. Maybe the shoe speaks a different language? This is when we call in Google Translate or the fashion police to fine these sneakers!
We Love Tea But Not on Our Bags
While we are a big fan of tea and those recycling bags that most stores now sell, that doesn’t mean to say the two should go together. This tea-bag-stained shopping bag looks like it got stuck in someone’s toilet bowl for a few days and got soiled…
Note to all, pair your tea with some sweet snacks and drink it, or even use the tea bags for some DIY face mask for your skin. But whatever you do decide to do with them, please refrain from wearing anything that looks like them!
These Gloves Look Like a Foam Finger
Gloves are an essential accessory in the winter to keep our icy fingers warm and snug as a bug. However, oftentimes it becomes difficult to do daily tasks, whilst wearing these second-hand layers. Imagine trying to open a door or reach for something out of your bag with this pair of gloves on?
It would be like trying to go about your day whilst wearing a foam finger. It sounds like mission impossible, so to all the adventurers out there, we dare you to try it!
Don’t Take Fashion Inspo From Horses
While we all love and appreciate the beauty of horses, that doesn’t mean to say that we should mimic their features in our fashion choices. Take these platform-horse-shoe-inspired heels as an example of going too far with your animal love.
We can pretty much guarantee that horse hooves will never be in fashion for humans so, rather save the tribute for special occasions like Halloween or dress-up parties. For those events, you can let your horsey freak flag fly and giddy-up with these heeled horseshoes!
A Splash of Confusion
It’s hard to go wrong when it comes to opting for comfy clothing, but this Ralph Lauren hoodie is the exception to the rule. While the bright pink color is fantastic, they went too far with the spotty washed-out design.
Instead of looking cool and eclectic, the brand new hoodie actually looks like the direct result of a laundry wash gone wrong. Everyone, please take note that if your clothes look like a laundry faux pas, then it will most probably be categorized as a fashion fail!
Multitasking Gone Wrong
In our current day and age of advanced technology and instant gratification, we try to lead the most efficient lifestyles by multitasking. We attempt to do as much as possible, in the shortest time period, but there is still a lot that cannot be done at once.
For example, trying to rock being a cowboy and athletic runner at the same time. You end up being the butt of the joke and committing a serious fashion crime! Also from a practical perspective, you would get super sweaty trying to run in these leather sneaker-boots.
The Hallmark Card of Cliche Shirts
T-shirts with inspirational quotes or cliches often make the list of fashion failures for their level of cringe. In this particular case, not only is the quote overused but it’s also a downright lie. Nothing about this confusing split-shirt is perfect.
Except, maybe the caption of the person who took the photo? Full credits to this Snapchatter for providing us with laughs. As to the brand who created this tee’s design, we are penalizing them with a fat fashion failure ticket!
The Risk of Online Shopping
Oftentimes ordering clothes online is a popular and more convenient way to shop, but that doesn’t mean to say that you always get what you paid for. Nothing replaces the physical experience of going into a clothing store and trying garments on for yourself.
Otherwise, you could end up with a purchase like this one that shocks all expectations. If this unfortunate online mishap happens to you, do not panic! Rather add the questionable clothing item to your box of dress-up goodies and you’ll have the craziest costumes all set to go. Case closed.
What The Hole?
Fashion today is a different ballgame from previous generations. In our day and age, it’s all about wearing what suits you and fits your preferences. Some people opt for modest, while others like to be more on display. And then there are those who want to show off their kidneys.
Wait, what? Don’t worry, we’re just as confused as you with this one. While we are a fan of the cut-out design, the placement here is just a little off. It also gives off the vibe that her back has eyes, which is creepy and not a fashionable look.
Overpriced and Questionable
Luxury fashion brands have the right to charge outlandish prices in return for their beautiful and unique designer pieces, but we object to this one. While a classic puffer jacket is a great winter essential, nothing about this jacket and dress is worthy of any payment, let alone $4,000.
These pieces remind us of a mix between trash bags and an Eskimo igloo. Neither of which are fashion-forward and while the visual is pricelessly funny, it still does not make the Moncler items worth their price tag.
An Inappropriate Fit
While having written messages on our clothing is fashionable and commonly found, one really needs to ensure that the message works with the garment before purchasing it. For example, having a sweet homage to your grandparent would look adorable on a pair of long socks or sleep shirt, but just looks plain inappropriate on a sports bra.
So, remember to not only read the clothing’s message but also check that it is suitable for the respective item.
Shoes That Require a Double-Take
Designers often try to get creative with classic pieces in an attempt to stay relevant and keep up a competitive edge. However, those creative juices can spill over and destroy a perfectly good garment. These Adidas trainers are the perfect example of when designers’ creative reign becomes overkill.
Pun intended here because at first glance these shoes look like they stepped foot in an actual crime scene. After doing a double-take, we can appreciate the bird design but we wouldn’t want our shoes to remind anyone of something so scary at first glance.
Cartoon Network AKA Cartoon “Not” Work
When it comes to comfy clothing like hoodies or track pants, we often like to have fun with them and rock cute designs or even cartoons. However, we still need to check that these animations are appropriate and situated in the right place, or else you could end up like this guy.
We just want to emphasize that it is never cute nor fashionable to let one rip, so if you’re getting any inspirational ideas from his sweatpants, stop right there!
T-Shirt Writing That Doesn’t Make Sense
A cute t-shirt with a pair of jeans is the perfect casual look for women on-the-go. Often, we like to funk things up a little by repping tees that have cute designs or some cheesy writing. But, in this questionable case, the cheesiness was replaced with another form of dairy, that is not eaten like cheese but drank from, usually in the form of a carton.
While it is common knowledge to even infants that we drink milk and not eat it, apparently the fashion designer here didn’t know that. Remember to make sure that your cheesy tee makes sense!
When the Embellishing Misses the Mark
While a plain white t-shirt is a great basic for every day, it can get boring and require a changeup. Now, we can take our tees to the next level through all sorts of arts and crafts fun. For example, try tie-dying, adding badges, or even sewing on some embellishments.
However, please ensure that the placement of these add-ons makes sense. If not, you could end up turning heads in the street by looking like you have bejeweled arm hair like in this case. Not a good look guys!
When Your Sandals Mimic a Bikini
In the summertime, we all like to sport our best swimwear and head to the beach for some sun and waves. So, when women head to the store to try on new bikinis in time for summer, they would never assume to put them on their feet.
Until this woman decided that a bikini can also be rocked in the form of sandals. While we give her credits for being different, we strongly believe that this look will never see the fashion-trending light of day.
A Baby Grow For Aliens
There is simply nothing cuter than baby clothes. From the different styled baby grows to the matching beanies or headpieces. Parents can always have fun when dressing their little bundle of joy. However, in order for the outfit to look cute, it needs to fit the child properly.
And last we checked, no human in the world has arms longer than their legs! Who knew they now designed baby grows for alien babies?
Cartoon Couture Gone Wrong
We love kid’s cartoons for entertainment and guaranteed laughs but most certainly not for fashion inspiration. After all, there is a reason why the characters aren’t real. However, some creative minds still try their luck with it, and the end result here is absolutely hilarious.
Apparently, some hot-shot designer thought that inflatable pants were a good idea, the absolute height of fashion. These inflatable pants remind of us a hot-air balloon, which belongs in the air and not on our bodies!
Bags For Your Inner Child
When it comes to dressing for day-to-day, it’s often better to play it safe and stick to the minimalistic look, but let your childhood inhibitions free when it comes to the accessories. Like in this case, our Snapchatter opted for an all-black outfit but chose to funk it up with her new bag purchase. Check this kissy-faced, cloud-inspired bag that closely resembles a poop.
Wait, what? We were totally on board with this purchase until we noticed the comparison. Fashion tip to you all, don’t wear something that has any link to your bowel activity. That will never be in fashion!
A Tie-Dyed Mess
While we all can enjoy some arts and crafts and DIY fun, that doesn’t mean to say we have mastered the art of it. More often than not, when we try to alter our clothes and change the design, it ends up with them being chucked in the trash.
Just check out this tie-dye-gone-wrong pair of jeans as an example of why we shouldn’t get artsy with our clothes. Unless you plan to just wear your creations at home or to sleep in, we suggest leaving the tie-dye to the professionals.
While women and men have a fair amount of differences, our pocket sizes shouldn’t be one of them. After this couple did a pocket comparison with their Nintendo Switch Lites, the disparity between the sizes shocked us. While the guy’s one fits the game console well, his girlfriend couldn’t even fit half of hers.
This test revealed that male and female jeans are designed very unfairly. We’re handing these pockets with a ticket for this unjust fashion crime!
What Do You See?
Remember that bodycon dress that went viral on the internet when people were seeing it in different colors? Well, this next fashion fail is reminding us of it. This TV presenter appears to be giant-headed at first with her black dress and small hands on her hips, however, if you do a double-take, her outfit becomes more clear.
She is in fact not a bobblehead, but a beautiful woman dressed in a white blazer with black detailing. While her look is totally chic at second glance, we have to award it a fashion fail for the optical illusion.
While warm and fuzzy pajamas can do no wrong in our eyes, that was until we discovered this long-sleeved, saggy-bunny-eared pajama top. It turns out that adding a cute bunny to your clothes can indeed make it inappropriate.
If the bunny ears were placed slightly higher or lower, this fashion fail could have been avoided but unfortunately, their location is unfortunate and that is just not a good look. Ever!
[post_page_titl]A Fairytale Nightmare[/post_page_title]
While Elsa from Frozen was a huge success and a truly beloved Disney princess, that doesn’t mean that she should be added to every possible item. We’ll leave the Frozen characters to feature on children’s toys, clothing, and even most accessories, but we draw the line at facial masks.
Why you might be wondering? Because we’re still scarred from seeing this mishap. Our favorite princess can never be viewed the same!
A Stretched Tee Disaster
Rocking a Twilight character on your tee is a totally understandable fashion move, even now. The films were all the rage in their day and we still have a lot of love for the characters. But, the next time you want to wear your favorite movie character on your t-shirt, try it on first!
Because you may discover that instead of looking like you’re wearing a cool film star, you actually look like you’re showing off an unflattering Snapchat-filtered version. Beware!
Paint Splatter for the Loss
While a distressed and paint-splattered design can be complementary to your garments when done right, it can also have the reverse effect. The colors and placement of the paint are how we decipher if it’s a win or failed situation.
Unfortunately for this Depop dress, due to the brown hues and placement by her derriere, the design greatly resembles a messy situation that is best kept off of clothing. So now, let’s all come together and flush this fashion fail of a dress from our minds.
The Strangest Substitute
We’re all for finding better alternatives to clothing items but sometimes we totally miss the mark and end up looking like aliens. This rain-protecting hoodie thing did exactly that. While the kid is adorable and definitely protected from the rain, we feel a good old-fashioned raincoat and an umbrella are still the better choice.
We’re gonna have to put this garment in the box of fashion fails because not only does it look weird, but we still can’t even describe what it is. Any suggestions are welcome.
The Online Misfortune Strikes Again
In our new technological era, ordering our clothes online is the way to go. However, that doesn’t mean the delivery service always gets it right. Imagine the excitement of receiving your new package, only to discover that your purchase is a better fit for a person with two left feet. Wait, what?
That was the actual case for this unlucky guy, but at least he saw the silver lining and made a genius Snapchat caption out of it!
Don’t Mix Bedding With Shoes
While nothing makes us happier and more relaxed than resting our heads on a soft pillow, that doesn’t mean to say that strapping that pillow on to our feet will elicit the same emotions. In fact, the only emotion we feel about this fashion statement is confusion.
While we’re all on board for the laughs that these pillow-inspired boots provide, we still penalize them with a giant fashion fail. And why? Because these boots ain’t made for walking but rather sleeping. Drop the mic for that sharp wit!
The Most Awkward Baby Bib
While placing accolades on clothing to honor all the loving fathers out there will never go out of fashion, the items in which we choose to add them to can. This baby bib definitely missed the cute boat and arrived in the land of the nonsensical.
The bib itself is adorable but the writing is misleading and rather belongs on the mug or peaked cap we give to our dads on Fathers’ Day.
An Unappetizing Choice
Boxer shorts are an essential and trusted form of underwear for men. However, this brand name is untrusting and quite frankly, gross. While few people will see us in our underwear, that doesn’t mean to say this fashion fail is allowed.
We are banning these boxer shorts based solely on the fact that the name of them makes us want to barf. All onboard with that decision?
While the Tilapia fish is a great source of omega-3 acids and protein for the body, that doesn’t mean to say we should physically wear it on our bodies. However, Mr. Kanye West begs to differ, as his latest Yeezy drop of shoes greatly resemble the skeleton of this fish.
Even though we find the shoes hilarious to stare at, as far as wearing the unconventional footwear, we’re going to have to pass. No disrespect to Kanye, but there’s just something super fishy about wearing these in public. Pun intended!
While sporting the name of a country or city on your tee always looks hip, the accuracy of the information is of utmost importance unless you want to look like a geography dummy. Our advice to you when deciding whether to wear a t-shirt like this is to ensure that the facts check out before sporting it.
There’s nothing worse than being the butt of the joke, and with a shirt like this, it’s almost a guarantee.
A Pocket-Less Pocket
The whole purpose behind a pocket is for us to be able to safely store a few necessities, such as a phone, lip-gloss, or keys. So, what happens when your garment’s pocket has no space to store anything? It goes right into our pile of fashion fails because it is absolutely useless to us!
It’s such a shame because this workout vest is super cute and versatile. To all the clothing designers out there, please design pockets that we can actually store stuff in. Many thanks!
A Shoe-Inspired Bag
We have seen some strangely inspired articles of clothing but this next one takes the cake. Imagine designing a bag from the sole of a shoe. If you’re having a hard time understanding this, we’re on the same page. Bags and shoes have totally different purposes and should not be cross-bred.
Remember, let’s keep our shoes on the ground to hold our feet and our bags around our bodies to hold our possessions. End of story!
A Giant Puffer
You know that old saying, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it”? Well, we are inserting that source of wisdom right here for this next fashion fail, because the original puffer jacket was a perfectly good garment.
But of course, designers had to level it up and now Asap Rocky looks like he’s rocking a giant jacket made of garbage bags. While the outfit is worthy of viral memes, it’s still an absolute joke and the fashion police would object to it!
A Cheesy Costume
While few things in life are better than eating pizza and taking a dip in the pool, that doesn’t mean to say that we should mesh these two acts together. Because, in the case that we do so, we end up with this swimwear piece that is just unappetizing.
While a pepperoni pizza is a fan favorite, when adding it to a costume, it actually makes us lose our appetite for pizza. So in the future, let’s keep the pizza just for our belly’s enjoyment.
Another Tie-Dye Fail
The art of mastering tie-dye has proved to be way more difficult than expected, as more often than not, we end up with a messy sight. In the case of these leggings, while there’s nothing majorly wrong with the tie-dye print, it just gives the unflattering effect of bruised legs.
And while we rely on our leggings for certain attributes like sucking our legs in and completing our physique, looking purple and bruised is most definitely not one of them.
Letters That Stand for Towers
Bedazzled accessories are always a fun way to spice up your outfit and brighten the day, literally. And this next fashion fail of a peaked cap is definitely a sight for sore eyes. Grab your sunglasses to prepare for the blinding sparkles.
Not only are there more jewels on this hat than the world has countries, but all our attention goes straight to that letter “R”, which has been strategically designed to look like the Eiffel Tower. Why not choose a different letter that’s much more suitable, like “A”?
These Accidental Leggings
From time to time, we all enjoy a funky pair of gym leggings with unique designs or crazy colors to brighten up our day, but this particular pair totally missed the mark. While the design and fit of the leggings look good, the designer overlooked one fundamental area.
Now, any woman who wears these will look like she had an accident, which is not exactly a look that we would pay money for. In fact, we would pay to ensure this never happens to us.
A Gown Fit for No One
When it comes to a woman’s wedding day, it’s her chance to be dramatic and feel like a total princess. The more over-the-top she chooses to be, the better for us in terms of laughs – and this next bride certainly did not disappoint.
Imagine designing your wedding gown to be inspired by the most famous man in Russia. If that visual confuses you, we’re totally on the same page! And we feel for those wedding guests who had to try to hold a straight face while this bride walked down the aisle.
A Bobblehead Malfunction
A fashion optical illusion strikes again for this news presenter, as her top of choice gives the spectacle of her having a bobblehead and tiny body. However, if you do a double-take or two, you will see that she is in fact of normal proportions but just chose an unflattering two-tone top.
The moral of the story here is that if you don’t want to look like a bobblehead on primetime TV, kindly refrain from wearing the black and white-striped garments!
