From playing Ripley in the Alien franchise to her roles in Ghostbusters and Avatar, Sigourney Weaver has a special spot in many geeks’ hearts. It’s nice to know, then, that her kindness isn’t just on the screen.

We absolutely agree with this Twitter user that we all just want to be Sigourney Weaver when we grow up. But, the best thing about this story is seeing how kind and humble Weaver was toward her fan.

Over his impressive career, Willem Dafoe has played a great many roles, running the gamut from hero to villain and everything in between. We have to be honest, though, that his most memorable characters have to be his villainous ones.

Ah, alien abduction stories. Hard for most of us to believe, but fully believed by a great number of people nevertheless. Either way, here are some stories that people have shared about alien abduction: or the belief regarding it, at any rate.

A lot of alien encounter stories involve someone in their own home, but this one actually involves a soldier who was deployed overseas.

While it was probably small comfort for him, we do have to say, from our perspective we’d think having a weapon nearby would be preferable to not, in such a scenario. Not that he was able to use it, supposedly.

If you regularly take an interest in alien encounter stories, then you’ve probably heard the bit about people losing track of time and memory. This does actually happen to people for pretty normal reasons, but it’s a little more suspicious when you lose those things around a troubling event.

We don’t know what these guys saw and if it was really aliens or just the government playing around with a new aircraft of some sort, but this story lies firmly within the realm of “possible.” As always though, there’s no real evidence other than the words of this man.

Now, we’re going to say upfront that this experience sounds a lot like sleepwalking. A lot of people that go through sleepwalking imagine other figures or beings with them as they move around, sometimes with that being carrying them.

However, we are also willing to admit that maybe it could be something paranormal. That said, even the guy who made this post admitted that it could have very well had nothing to do with aliens at all. It’s really just a vague abnormal experience.

Lots of alien abduction stories take place in empty fields and such. We’re not sure why this is the case: maybe because there’s never anyone else out there to witness the phenomenon, by alien design or by liar’s intent. One way or another, this kid apparently had his experience in such a field.

However, he admits himself in the story that perhaps he just fell asleep in the tall grass and couldn’t be found. We know that it’s actually very easy to miss people in such environments, so that too is pretty likely. Maybe he was just overlooked.

If aliens do exist, they at least know how to target their abductions in a way where no one except their victims ever see them. That’s probably why a lot of these stories take place on long, dark roads in the night where no one ever sees anything.

Apparently the aliens are also really good at being almost impossible to identify for certain. Descriptions of them are always remarkably vague, but perhaps that’s something they intend. Either way, these two ladies sure believe something paranormal happened to them.

This story is a little weird, not because of the usual things that are involved with alien stories, but because the aliens in this tale obviously made off with some poor kid’s pants. Why? No one is really sure. Maybe they were studying fashion so they could blend in better.

Or maybe the kid just had a really wild sleepwalking episode. You wouldn’t believe the types of crazy things people accidentally do while sleepwalking. But hey, we suppose either one of them is technically possible. There’s just no way to know.

Stories where people had some sort of unearthly encounter that resulted in a blackout are plausible at least. But people who claim to talk and interact with aliens are very suspicious. After all, if they had really become best buds with aliens, wouldn’t they have some evidence?

More importantly, if you were one of the few people on Earth to interact with aliens and even get all friendly with them like this guy allegedly did after a scuffle, wouldn’t you have more important things to do than post on Reddit?

You know what we want to know? How come aliens abduct people and experiment on them, but always put them back? Wouldn’t they need to abduct less humans if they just kept the ones they abducted in the first place? It’s not like they would be endangering themselves by keeping humans when we can’t even detect them.

Either way, this guy claims to have seen an alien “morph” through solid matter to take a look at him. What did it want? Who knows. Also, apparently he wasn’t supposed to be sleeping on his back, which is also of note to him. Maybe it was just a scary dream?

You know what a lot of alien encounter stories have in common? They involve someone being frozen, seeing a scary figure in a corner, and blacking out before waking up to see everything is normal. We’d like to point out that this is exactly what sleep paralysis tends to do to people.

But we’re not saying it’s impossible for it to actually be aliens. Though we would have to ask what aliens are doing bothering random civilians all the time. If they want to study humans, couldn’t they do that from space, and just watch?

We don’t think that out of body experiences are impossible, but we do believe that extremely vivid dreams are a lot more likely. What gets us about this story is the very explicit and specific knowledge this person shares about being exactly 531 lightyears away.

How would he know that? Does he even really know how far a lightyear is? Well, maybe he had some crazy astral projection thing going on, but maybe he was also just having a super wild dream about saving the universe exactly 531 lightyears away.

Does getting shrunken and sucked into a tube remind anyone of Willy Wonka and his Chocolate Factory? No? Just us? Well anyway, this woman’s experience is allegedly quite detailed and vivid. We’re not sure if that makes it more or less believable.

But we can understand why that experience, real or perceived, would be pretty traumatic for someone. We firmly believe that things you perceive as real can affect your life just as much as reality itself, though who knows: maybe everything she saw really happened.

Lots of alien encounter stories are uncomfortable by nature, and generally pretty creepy. Has something to do with how those aliens never want to make their presence known in a normal way, like waving and saying hello. They subscribe to the paranormal activity type of greeting, for some reason.

That’s why they allegedly make themselves known in ways like this woman described. Would it kill them to be a little less terrifying and a little more approachable? What’s the need for all this hocus pocus stuff anyway? Or dot hey find it funny?

Lots of alien encounter stories involve spotting a UFO or at least getting the sense of a UFO being nearby. This is one such story, though it mostly involves lights and sounds, so it’s not particularly scary. Still, it’s a story to talk about.

We gotta ask though, if the aliens are capable of flight in any part of our atmosphere, why are they always flying so low? Why risk being seen like that? Just doesn’t seem like something a very advanced alien race trying to be secretive would do.

This story is a little weird, not because it has some vague recollection of an alien encounter, but because it raises the question as to one actually happened, based on a weird experience. To be honest, perhaps this story has nothing to do with aliens.

But it does sound like something that could be caused by aliens, so we figured we could mention it here regardless. Maybe this weird incident of losing memory and feeling like something big happened was aliens wiping their memory after an abduction? Who knows?

Why do so many alien encounter stories involve people blacking out right as something paranormal happens? If it is the aliens knocking them out, why can’t the aliens knock them out before doing the suspicious thing to avoid having stories like this circulate around?

Either way, there are a lot of alien encounter stories like this one that involve a person blacking out right after getting nabbed or feeling like something was off. Maybe the aliens need to step up their game and reorganize this whole process.

Some people are willing to admit that their alien encounter stories may just be really vivid dreams or nightmares. Even this guy admits that it may be the case. But the bit about his ripped sweater is very interesting. That said, it doesn’t mean that it wasn’t a dream at all.

After all, the brain can often incorporate things that are from reality into your dream. Though it’s worth noting that the kid didn’t seem to know his sweater was ripped in the first place, so that’s something to take into consideration, when you think about it.

This is another story that we feel is very likely to be sleep paralysis, which most often involves being unable to move your body and seeing or hearing hallucinations. However, we are not going to say for certain that it was sleep paralysis. Maybe it really happened.

Regardless of what it was, we can definitely see why this would be a terrifying experience for anyone, and why it would be traumatic for them to remember that it happened. Still, a lot of stories go this way, and sleep paralysis fits the bill. Unless that’s the aliens’ plan?

Are aliens ever annoyed by how scared or anxious humans are when they get abducted? Well, they should probably expect it considering the situation. But at least they seem to have some magical calming powers to make their abducted humans calm down.

That said, why don’t they always do this? Some people tell stories about aliens that don’t care about their comfort at all, and others tell stories about aliens that will do their best to make you feel at peace. Is it about the experiments, or is it just different aliens?

In this alien abduction story, our biggest question is why the aliens were supposedly so bad about getting the details right when returning a human to their bed. Like, they’re so smart and advanced, but can’t put a kid’s pajamas on right, or place him back in a bad the way they grabbed him?

Well, maybe they have weird designs beyond our understanding or something. Or maybe they don’t feel that such details are really important. Either way, stories like this one are pretty weird, though we would like to mention the possibility of sleep walking.

You know, most stories involving a UFO have the being cylindrical or ovular in shape, but you don’t hear too many stories about triangle shaped ones. This is one of the few stories where such a UFO is actually involved. Probably not the most important part of it, of course.

A lot of stories also include someone feeling compelled to do things, like go to the window, which isn’t really easy to explain. We suppose this is actually a pretty typical alien encounter story, but we do have to include the typical as well.

Few alien encounter stories actually involve communicating with the aliens, or rather, having an actual conversation with them in which someone asks questions and someone answers. This story does have that, however brief the exchange may have been.

It’s also one of the few stories that involve seeing multiple types of aliens at once, which is pretty rare. Whether or not that means anything is up for debate. Regardless, at least the aliens in this story were respectful of one’s wishes.

Imagine having a bunk bed, sleeping on the bottom, and when you look up, there’s a weird inhuman face peeking at you from up above. Creepy. Possibly just a creepy dream, but also possibly not. Apparently, all the aliens in the universe have telepathic “make you sleep” powers.

Which is pretty darn convenient for them, since they seem to be noticed or spotted by humans a lot, if all of these stories are anything to by. But hey, maybe the weird top bunk alien was just looking for a place to crash for a little bit?

This story is less about one particular encounter and more about the sensations one feels during weird alien abduction shenanigans. We imagine that being able to phase through walls and whatnot would feel a certain way that most humans can’t describe.

We do have to ask though: why would aliens abduct the same person multiple times? If they were going to do that, why not just abduct them once and keep them? It’s not like that would place their existence in any more danger than continuously kidnapping the same guy.

Lots of alien encounter stories have something to do with color, or orbs of color flying around, or lights of some sort. Usually people associate these with UFOs or something, though there are times they don’t as well. Either way, there are probably some medical explanations for this kind of thing.

According to this guy though, a friend of his saw the same thing he did, so it’s worth considering as having been real. Once again though, there’s really no way to confirm or deny the story, so we can only judge it based on our own beliefs.

Not everyone gets scared when they have an alien encounter experience, or when they perceive one, at any rate. Some people actually feel pretty peaceful or comfortable with such experiences. That said, we do find this level of comfort to be a little extreme.

There are many reasons why people may have strange feelings or thoughts. Most of them can be explained in a medical way. We’re not saying that aliens don’t exist, but you should generally see a medical professional for all such things regardless.

Is it an unspoken rule that aliens have to be super vague and cryptic about their presence and goals? What issue do they have with being upfront with the humans they are interacting with? Seriously, it would make contact a lot easier, wouldn’t it?

Either way, this story, like many others, involves a very brief out of body experience in which aliens are seen, but no real communication occurs. Darn aliens, why can’t they just be honest about their feelings? Make life easier for us and them.

One explanation that often comes up when lights in the sky are military training exercises, with human aircraft flying around. This story raises the possibility of such a scenario, but claims that it was “confirmed” that no such aircraft were in the area.

While that may be true, we’d like to point out that the people “confirming” that could just be lying. After all, if it was a top secret exercise, they’d probably rather have you think it was aliens than compromise the secret project, right?

What we like about this story is that it considers the alternatives to alien presence. When a fast and bright light flashes across the sky for an instant, it’s usually a meteorite or something similar. But this guy raises some good points regarding those exact questions.

So who knows, maybe it really was an alien ship flying by? Although, we once again have to ask why they would be flying so low or so noticeably when they clearly don’t have to. After all, why make a show of travel when you are trying to keep a low profile?

This story is interesting because it’s one of the few times someone claims to see something that isn’t a vague light in the distance, but rather an actual craft of some sort that they can describe. Which is good, as far as the credibility of the story is concerned.

But as always, we have to raise some questions. Sure, we don’t have an explanation for what they saw, but if it were an alien craft, why risk flying so close to a human commercial plane, where it could easily be seen or maybe even hit?

We’ll end this with another account of a UFO, though it’s worth noting that the location of this story is near Camp Peddleton, a military base. So it’s very possible that the UFO that was seen was actually just a funny shaped human craft or vehicle.

You never know though: seems unnecessarily dangerous, but aliens could have been getting up to some weird extraterrestrial shenanigans near a military base. Who knows, maybe the military was even in on it? Yeah, maybe that is a little far-fetched.

Like we said before, we’re not inclined to condemn or support those who believe in aliens and believe they have had alien encounters. It’s not our place. That said, there are some things that are objectively ridiculous and easy to scoff at.

We’re not sure how this guy would be privy to such special knowledge that no one else seems to know, or how he’s so informed on this higher race of beings that are watching humanity all the time. Some stories are plausible, but this one is obviously made up for attention.

We’re not sure why this guy would be so vague about his alien encounter experience if it really happened as clearly as he claims it did. Evidently, he laid eyes on a UFO that was all of ten or twenty feet away from him. But all he can tell us is that it was V-shaped?

We’re just saying, we think someone who saw a real UFO would be a lot more forthcoming with details about it. It seems pretty unlikely that he wouldn’t even mention what color it was. And what was it doing, just hovering around to be looked at?

Is it just us, or do a lot of alien encounter stories involve some sort of weird electronic fluctuations that mess up a bunch of our equipment? Clocks, TVs, lights, everything seems to go haywire in stories where a mysterious alien or shadowy entity shows up.

Are all aliens equipped with electronic pulses or something? Or is there just one race of aliens allegedly watching us that happen to do this? Or, did this guy have a nightmare, than wake up to find that a power outage had messed up his clocks?

Most alien encounter stories are about aliens just being vague and confusing, but this story has them being benevolent, apparently. We don’t know why they would come around every seven years specifically, but who are we to ask those questions?

Either way, we wish that all alien encounter stories were as benevolent as this one, because that would make most of said stories a lot less troubling to read about. Unfortunately, this story seems to be very uncommon among these things.

What’s interesting to us about this alien encounter story is the number of aliens involved in it. In most stories, the aliens just aren’t seen at all, or if they are, it’s in small numbers. But this individual allegedly saw a great a number of them messing around in her room.

We have to say, they’re apparently remarkably quiet, if that many of them managed to rummage around in her room without bothering her. But, we suppose aliens have proven themselves to be pretty stealthy and secretive over the years, allegedly.
